Intro

I have been drawing from a wide array of experiences for my entire career. I went to school for Fine art and Education which I expected to give me an obvious, straightforward path, but have found myself traveling much farther and wider in the opportunities that followed. Fine art quickly led me into the industry of large format printing, and my educational background allowed me to help co-workers and newer team members to quickly understand the training and experienced I had picked up in the field. In a few short years I was an integral part of my team. I am grateful I was able to quickly lead projects across all of print production, assist in marketing promotions, and support the design department as I applied my graphic skills to new digital interfaces. Working alongside a variety of people with vastly differing goals, allowed me to find simple solutions that benefit the team as well as individuals. Bringing this mentality into web development helped me simplify complicated repetitive tasks into streamlined solutions.

Work

With a childhood interest in art, my education pushed me into classic printmaking techniques. Lithography, woodblock, etchings, and silkscreen became my medium of choice. I would create graphics using these traditional production techniques where the process greatly influenced the final result.

Post college, I found myself producting art digitally. As my work experince drew me into large format and digital printing I found I had a deeper understanding of the hardware and software that modern printing is based on. I was able to design for print, and make images that took full advantage of the printed medium.

As my carrer progressed I found myself constantly adapting to new goals and projects. As I managed art files on multiple interfaces and physical printers, I began to fully understand how the digital assets interacted with the printed product. I began applying those skills to other aspects of my work besides the graphics. File management and spreadsheets became databases and scripts. I dove into software development to apply my strengths to a wider array of opportunities. I am proud to be able to solve a wider variety of problems than ever before. The connections between the digital and the physicalcome together as seamlessly as the logistical and aesthetic.

About

I was born in upstate New York with a good mix of outdoor tranquility and downtown hustle. After attending college at Suny New Paltz, I moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina for a few years. When my partner finished grad-school we relocated again to the heart of Los Angeles. As we got used to the west coast and really started to settle in, the pandemic hit and sent us zipping right back to New York. I now reside in Rochester looking forward with the experinces of the north, south, east, and west of the USA to draw from.
